Cleaning Vinyl Windows

To prevent scratches or discoloration, vinyl windows such as Isinglass® or Strataglass® need special care.
  1. Rinse off loose dirt and particles with clean, fresh water.
  2. Prepare a cleaning solution using ¼ cup of a mild, non-detergent soap like Woolite® or Dreft® per gallon of warm water.
  3. Wash the windows using a microfiber towel or washing mitt.
  4. Rinse thoroughly in the same manner using clean fresh water and a clean cloth.
  5. Dry the windows with a clean absorbent cloth or towel to prevent water spots.
  6. After cleaning, apply a vinyl polish and UV protectant to maintain clarity and prevent sun damage.

NEVER

  • Use window cleaner, Windex®, detergent soap, dish soap, Fantastic®, Simple Green®, Rainx®, or any other cleanser on clear vinyl boat windows. These chemicals break down the plasticizers that prevent yellowing, hazing and cracking.
  • Use paper towels or anything abrasive to wipe the windows. They will scratch.
